Marcus founded Wainwright & Co Stonemasons in 2006 and has since grown the business by specialising in seismic strengthening and maintenance of new and historic masonry buildings.
Born in Lincolnshire, England and educated in Freiburg, Germany, Marcus worked in monumental masonry before relocating to Dunedin in 2003, where he continued to develop his skills and passion for heritage restoration.

Donal became a Director of Wainwright & Hickey in 2022, following the transition from Wainwright & Co Stonemasons.
Donal first joined Wainwright & Co in 2016, working in Dunedin before relocating to Central Otago for a few years, where he led heritage projects such as the Stewart Town restoration and Arrowtown Gaol.
Originally from County Waterford, Ireland, Donal comes from a long line of skilled tradesmen. A solid plasterer by trade, he brings extensive experience in lime plastering, built heritage, and stonemasonry. With his strong operational expertise and craftsmanship, Donal has helped expand the business, contributing specialist skills in heritage restoration.
